On April 10, a delegation led by Professor Subai Anabek, Vice President of the Kyrgyzstan-China Friendship Society and Rector of Kyrgyzstan-Chinese Friendship University, visited Henan Vocational College of Water Conservancy and Environment (HWEC). The two sides held in-depth discussions on “Chinese + Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET)” cooperation under the framework of the "Belt and Road Initiative". The event was presided over by Vice President Bao Yonggang, with President Li Zhiping present. Heads of the Party and Government Office, the International Exchange Center, and relevant secondary colleges attended.
President Li Zhiping extended a warm welcome to the delegation and gave a detailed introduction to HWEC's discipline development, talent cultivation model, educational achievements, and internationalization process. She noted that this exchange is an important practice for HWEC in implementing the Education Action Plan for the Belt and Road Initiative. Actively responding to the "Vocational Education Going Global" strategy, HWEC has developed distinctive strengths in fields such as electronic information technology, intelligent manufacturing, and modern logistics, aligning closely with the industrial development needs of Kyrgyzstan. HWEC looks forward to focusing on "Chinese + TVET" to effectively align China's vocational education standards with overseas talent cultivation.
Professor Subai Anabek expressed his appreciation for the warm hospitality extended by HWEC and introduced the national conditions, culture, education system, and folk traditions of Kyrgyzstan. He shared insights into Kyrgyzstan’s education system and the Kyrgyzstan-China Friendship University's layout for Chinese language education in Central Asia and emphasized the urgent need for the university to attract interdisciplinary talents proficient in “Chinese + TVET”. He expressed the hope that the two sides would deepen the faculty and students exchanges, skill training programs, and joint development of majors, to build a "language + skills" dual-improvement platform for the youth of Kyrgyzstan and jointly promote the Education Action Plan for the Belt and Road Initiative.
The delegation focused on inspecting modern training facilities of the School of Water Conservancy Engineering, including the Digital Watershed and Water Conservancy Hub Dynamic Simulation Training Platform, the Intelligent Water-Saving Irrigation Engineering Training Center, the Water Conservancy and Hydropower Engineering Virtual Simulation Training Center, the Intelligent Logistics Comprehensive Training Center, and the UAV Training Room of the School of Water Conservancy Engineering. They spoke highly of HWEC's construction of training facilities and the level of practical teaching.
This exchange has enhanced mutual trust between the educational sectors of China and Kyrgyzstan, boosted the integrated development of people-to-people exchanges and skills education under the Belt and Road Initiative, and laid a foundation for both sides to conduct multi-level and wide-ranging cooperation in areas such as "Chinese + TVET" talent cultivation and practical training resource sharing.
