Professor from University of Bolton, UK Visits Henan Vocational College of Water Conservancy and Environment (HWEC) for a Series of UK-China Transnational Education (TNE) Events

From April 6 to 12, Professor Pradeep Siwach from the University of Bolton, UK, was invited to Henan Vocational College of Water Conservancy and Environment (HWEC) to deliver a week of lectures and academic guidance to students of the Big Data Technology program under the UK-China Transnational Education (TNE) initiative.
On April 7, a welcoming ceremony was held at the School of Information Engineering of HWEC. Dean Zhang Junfeng, Party General Branch Secretary Zhou Yingqi, along with faculty and student representatives, attended the ceremony. Zhang Junfeng provided a detailed introduction to HWEC's educational history, discipline development, and talent cultivation outcomes, and particularly emphasized HWEC's strategic layout in internationalized education. Prof. Siwach highly commended HWEC's educational achievements. He noted that the University of Bolton will use this exchange to actively build a bridge for China-UK higher education resource sharing and promote academic collaboration and talent cultivation between the two sides in the field of big data.
During the exchange, Prof. Siwach conducted a series of activities focused on the frontiers of big data technology, including teaching core courses of the major, cross-cultural academic exchanges, discussions on teaching methods, and an introduction to the UK higher education system. Through forms such as case analysis and interactive Q&A, he provided students with an immersive international academic experience, helping them broaden their professional horizons and improve their cross-cultural communication skills.
The event serves as HWEC's important practice to advance the UK-China Transnational Education program. It not only deepens the cooperation between the two sides in fields such as educational concepts and innovative teaching methods, but also opens a window for students to access international cutting-edge technologies. Moving forward, the two universities will expand cooperation in areas such as academic research, faculty development, and student exchanges, continuously improve the level of internationalized education, and cultivate interdisciplinary talents with both professional competence and a global vision.
