Delegation from the University of Greater Manchester Pays an Official Visit to Henan Vocational College of Water Conservancy and Environment (HWEC), Jointly Exploring Novel Pathways for Cooperation

On the afternoon of May 15, a delegation led by Alan McNeilly, Director of the International Office at the University of Greater Manchester in the UK, paid an official visit to Henan Vocational College of Water Conservancy and Environment (HWEC). The two sides engaged in constructive exchanges on deepening educational cooperation. The exchange meeting was presided over by Bao Yonggang, Vice President of HWEC, with leaders of the International Exchange Center and relevant secondary colleges in attendance.
During the meeting, both sides reviewed the outcomes attained in the specialized cooperation program on big data technology and reached a consensus on further deepening cooperation with plans to expand the scope of cooperation to strategic emerging sectors such as intelligent manufacturing, green environmental protection, and digital economy. By integrating high-quality educational resources, the two universities aimed to elevate specialty development and the quality of talent cultivation. In the meantime, the two sides conducted thorough discussions on the planning of concrete programs, involving mutual exchanges of teachers and students, summer camps, and upgrading from junior college to undergraduate education. They also worked out the implementation plans for follow-up cooperation.
Following the exchange meeting, Alan McNeilly delivered a thematic presentation to the students present, during which he elaborated on the founding history, disciplinary characteristics, and overseas study service system of the University of Greater Manchester, offering a host of options for further study.
The visit has laid solid groundwork for cooperation across multiple fields between the two universities. Looking ahead, both universities will leverage high-quality educational resources to advance collaboration and promote educational internationalization, empowering students to gain promising development prospects and diverse learning opportunities.
