To refine the talent cultivation quality in an all-round way, broaden channels for international educational cooperation, and deepen students' understanding of high-quality overseas educational resources, a special study-abroad planning presentation by the University of Greater Manchester was held consecutively on April 9 at both the Huayuan Road Campus and the Airport Campus of Henan Vocational College of Water Conservancy and Environment (HWEC). Prof. Pradeep Hewage from the University of Greater Manchester attended the event as a special guest speaker, and hundreds of students from both campuses participated in the presentation.
During the event, Prof. Pradeep systematically outlined the development strategies of the University of Greater Manchester in core domains such as discipline construction, curriculum structure, admissions policies, cultivation mechanisms, and career development pathways. Drawing on an empirical research paradigm, Prof. Pradeep offered in-depth insights into the university's innovative teaching system, differentiated pathways for further study, and tiered scholarship system. The professor put forward a special interpretation of the full-cycle support framework established for international students, encompassing key aspects such as student registration guidance, airport pickup services in the UK, and intensive academic language courses. These initiatives facilitate students to effectively grasp the strategies of cross-cultural learning adaptation and solutions for overseas life, and scientifically plan their development orientations for overseas study.
During the interactive session, students engaged in detailed discussions with Prof. Pradeep on key issues including "major selection criteria", "language proficiency requirements", and "scholarship evaluation mechanisms", fostering a vibrant atmosphere of communication.
The event has successfully built a bridge for sharing of intercollegiate academic resources, and created a platform for students to access high-quality overseas educational resources. It helped students systematically plan their overseas study pathways while substantially broadening their global perspectives. Moving forward, HWEC will steadily deepen the integration of resources from overseas universities, strive to forge a multi-tiered platform for study-abroad services, deliver customized further study solutions and whole-process guidance, effectively supporting students in achieving their goal of becoming internationally competitive professionals.
