On the afternoon of November 11, a four-member delegation led by Dong Trung Chinh, Principal of Hanoi Industrial and Economic College (HIEC) in Vietnam, paid an official visit to Henan Vocational College of Water Conservancy and Environment (HWEC) for exchanges and cooperation. The two sides conducted in-depth discussions on core topics such as the internationalization of vocational education and cooperation pathways for "vocational education going global", jointly charting a new blueprint for China-Vietnam cooperation in skilled talent cultivation. The symposium was presided over by Bao Yonggang, Vice President of HWEC, with leaders of the International Exchange Center and relevant secondary colleges in attendance.

During the symposium, Bao Yonggang extended a warm welcome to the delegation on behalf of HWEC, and introduced in detail HWEC's strengths in the development of distinctive majors such as water resources and hydropower engineering, environmental engineering, and intelligent logistics, along with the construction of training platforms, university-enterprise collaborative education, and the commercialization of vocational education achievements. He noted that as industrial collaboration between China and Vietnam continues to deepen, the demand for high-caliber skilled talents is growing increasingly urgent. With vocational education serving as the core channel for talent supply, the two sides have significant potential for cooperation in areas such as joint development of majors, resource sharing, and joint talent cultivation.

Dong Trung Chinh outlined the current demand for talents during Vietnam's industrial transformation and the school-running characteristics of HIEC, highlighting the prominent shortage of interdisciplinary talents in electronic information technology, mechatronics, and other fields in Vietnam. He expressed the hope to draw on advanced experiences from China's vocational education through this visit and expand cooperation in high-quality educational resources. The two sides also engaged in comprehensive exchanges on educational philosophy, practical training system construction, core educational achievements, and other facets, establishing a solid foundation of mutual trust for follow-up pragmatic cooperation.

After the symposium, the delegation inspected HWEC’s Digital Watershed and Water Conservancy Hub Dynamic Simulation Training Center, Intelligent Water-Saving Irrigation Engineering Training Center, Water Resources and Hydropower Engineering Virtual Simulation Training Center, Intelligent Logistics Training Center, and UAV Training Room at HWEC. At the Virtual Simulation Training Center, Dong Trung Chinh personally experienced the application of VR teaching. At the UAV Training Room, the delegation members observed operational demonstrations and gained firsthand understanding of the equipment performance and teaching applications. They praised HWEC's practical teaching system featuring "combination of virtuality with reality, equal emphasis on software and hardware" as well as its training environment for high-caliber technical and skilled talents.

This visit has established a regular exchange platform for the two colleges, heralding a new phase in the vocational education cooperation between China and Vietnam. Both sides agreed to establish a mechanism for regular mutual visits and to conduct multi-level and wide-ranging pragmatic cooperation in areas such as the advancement of the "Chinese + TVET" program, the co-development and sharing of training resources, the exchanges and mutual visits of teachers and students, and the joint talent cultivation. These endeavors will collectively empower the industrial upgrading and the development of skilled talents in China and Vietnam.
