The School of Economics and Management, formerly known as the Department of Finance and Economics at the Water Conservancy Vocational College of North China University of Water Resources and Electric Power, started enrolling students for higher vocational education in 2004. After years of development, it has formed a higher vocational education system with distinct characteristics, strong service capacity, and in-depth industry-education integration. Adhering to the school-running path of "industry-education integration and school-enterprise cooperation" all the time, the School accurately aligns with the cutting-edge demands of the finance and business field. In addition to offering nine higher vocational majors and corresponding professional directions, it has built six well-equipped on-campus training centers, and jointly set up more than 10 stable off-campus practice and training bases with leading enterprises in the industry, providing a solid guarantee for the cultivation of students' practical abilities and their employment and entrepreneurship.

The School has six subordinate departments, including the Party and Government Office, the Teaching and Research Office, the Office of Student and Mass Organizations, the Teaching and Research Section of Modern Logistics Management, the Teaching and Research Section of Big Data and Accounting, and the Teaching and Research Section of Cross-border E-commerce and Marketing.

The School boasts a well-structured faculty team, with over 50 professional teachers and more than 10 student management and service staff. Among them, there are two professors, seven associate professors, and over 20 lecturers; 40 individuals holding a master's degree or above; one excellent educational management talent of Henan Province, two academic and technical leaders recognized by the Education Department of Henan Province, one famous vocational education teacher of Henan Province, four core teachers, two young core teachers of Henan Province, and over 30 "dual-qualified" teachers of Henan Province. Over the past three years, teachers of the School have edited two national-level planned textbooks, three provincial-level planned textbooks, and more than 20 other unified textbooks; presided over or participated in more than 20 provincial and departmental-level research projects; won more than 20 educational and teaching achievement awards at or above the departmental level; and published over 100 academic papers. Teachers and students have obtained more than 40 awards at or above the provincial level in competitions.
